PTCB Prep Guide ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and platform at ptcbprepguide.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2What We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name — used to personalize your account and emails
• Email address — used for account login, password resets, and transactional emails
• Password — stored as a hashed, encrypted value; we never store your plain-text password
• Terms agreement timestamp — the date and time you agreed to our Terms of Service, recorded when you create your account

Information generated automatically by your use of the Service:

• Exam progress and scores — which practice exams you've taken, your scores, and your answers (used to display your results and enable Mastery Mode)
• Account creation and login timestamps
• Payment status — whether you have completed a purchase (stored as a boolean flag; no payment card details are stored on our servers)

We do not collect: payment card numbers, bank details, social security numbers, or any government-issued identification.

3How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Authenticate you when you log in
• Process your payment (via Stripe — see below)
• Display your exam progress, scores, and history
• Send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, purchase receipts)
• Send you study-related emails and tips (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Respond to your support requests
• Maintain a record of your agreement to our Terms of Service
• Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access
• Improve the platform based on aggregate, anonymized usage data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

5Email Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive:

• Transactional emails — account confirmation, password resets, and purchase receipts. These are required for account operation and cannot be opted out of.
• Study and marketing emails — tips, study reminders, and promotional messages. You may unsubscribe from these at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email, or by emailing us at support@ptcbprepguide.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect transactional emails necessary for your account.

6Data Storage & Security

All personal data is stored on servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
• Encrypted password hashing (passwords are never stored in plain text)
• Encrypted data at rest in Supabase
• Role-based access controls limiting who can access personal data

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., financial records related to payments).

No system is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

7Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — You can update your name or email from your account settings, or by contacting us
• Deletion — You can request that we permanently delete your account and all associated personal data
• Portability — You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
• Unsubscribe — You can opt out of marketing emails at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@ptcbprepguide.com. We will respond within 30 days. Please note that deleting your account will permanently remove your exam progress and access to paid content — this action cannot be undone.

8Cookies & Analytics

We use the following types of cookies and local storage:

• Authentication cookies — set by Supabase to keep you logged in between sessions. These are essential for the platform to function.
• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to help us understand how users navigate the site (page views, session duration, traffic sources). All data is anonymized and aggregated.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense on free pages to serve relevant ads. These are not used on authenticated, paid-only pages.

Most browsers allow you to control or block cookies through browser settings. Disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

9Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account and associated data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
